All-inclusive Sandals Royal Curaçao Is Open on the South Coast of the island
Sandals Royal Curaçao, which opened in March 2018 as the first Sandals resort in the Dutch Caribbean and the sixteenth in the company’s collection, is situated at the base of Tafelberg Mountain between the Caribbean Sea and Spanish Water Bay. “Our guests and the many ways we can engage with this amazing destination inspired our vision for Sandals Royal Curaçao,” said Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts International (SRI), “This resort is a labour of love years in the making with my father, Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart, as the helm, and it demonstrates tourism’s power to transform via next-generation experiences that not only raise the bar for all-inclusive vacations, but celebrate the local people, flavours, and terrains.”www.sandals.com/royal-curacao/

The Curaçao Swordfish Synchronized Swimming Team made a big splash in the spectacular infinity pool during the Grand Opening, which was attended by local officials, party-goers, and well-wishers. Blue Man Group thrilled the crowd with their signature paint drum spectacle, and Carnival returned as Dushi Aventura made a spectacular entrance with a parade of 100 drummers, dancers, and stilt walkers.

The resort, which is fifteen miles from the Curaçao International Airport, features the brand’s first-ever Dos Awa Infinity Pool with a swim-up bar and sun loungers. Slumber with style is guaranteed in two new room types, the Kurason Island Poolside Butler Bungalows and the Awa Seaside Butler Bungalows, both equipped with every convenience imaginable. A sporty convertible Mini Cooper is available to those staying in the top-tier suites to explore the island.

There are 11 dining options on the resort, including 8 restaurants, three food trucks, and 13 bars. There are eight partner restaurants island-wide, including Sandals’ first floating bar, for a Latin-fusion meal. Other fan faves include Butch’s Island Chop House, Pietra for sumptuous buffets, and Zuka for a pizza to beat the band.

The Island Routes kiosk in the lobby provides catamaran trips and sunset sailings for exploring Willemstad, the capital city’s colorful pastel buildings, on bike or walking tours. David Shields, Senior Sales Vice President at Island Routes, said that we are currently negotiating with local tour operators to add more choices such as deep-sea fishing trips and rock-climbing excursions (Island Routes, 2016). In addition to Old Quarry Golf Course, one of the most sought-after golf courses in the Caribbean, Royal Curacao also has a holiday home. To book a stay, please visit www.sandals.com/royal-curacao/.
