Our trip to Barbados
Our trip to Barbados – As Keycaribe we always want to inspect that the properties are up to date to our clients needs. So we travel to our destinations. This time it was Barbados. From Curacao to Barbados there is no direct flight. It consist of island hopping and taking a 12 hour travel itinerary but it was well worth the travel.
Walking off the plane at Barbados’ Grantley Adams International Airport, the scents of ocean and sweet frangipani waft through the tropical afternoon air. We walked through immigration and customs in about five minutes. The rental car was already on the carpark with instructions and the keys in it. We only had to pay for the parking ticket in BDS.
We arrived late at night so if you are not used to driving on the left side of the road it will give you a little trill not to make mistakes in traffic. With Maps.me it was a 20 minute drive to our stay at the Beacon Hill. When we arrived our contact person was already waiting for us.
Beacon Hill 303 is just a warm cozy apartment which is tastefully decorated, surrounded by lush tropical gardens. We had seen pictures of the unit but when we arrived we were surprised of the true beauty the unit and the area had to offer. We opened the balcony door and you could smell and hear the ocean. Occasionally you see monkeys running trough the garden looking for fruits from trees and it is just great to see that they are living amongst people. Excited about the scenery I started taking pictures of the unit and the garden with monkeys. But that is not all this apartment has to offer, on the upper deck you have a communal pool to relax and enjoy the view from Mullins beach.
What is more calming is that you can hear the waves like a lullaby singing you to sleep only to wake up by birds sining in the morning. The next day when we woke up we had breakfast and started walking to Mullins beach. Mullins beach is just right across and taking a stroll over this beautiful beach is why you need to be on the Westcoast of Barbados. Understandably called the Platinum Coast because sometimes, the ocean really does look platinum against the deliciously soft golden sand beaches and azure skies.
As we were there for business we were picked up to check out 22 new and current properties we rent on the island. All are situated on the west coast where you can find the prestigious resort Sandy Lane. There we visited Tradewinds, a new villa to our website. On this coast you can also find Smugglers Cove , Coral Cove with its modern Crowsnest penthouse (also new) at Paynes Bay Beach, Portico, Sandy Cove, Footprints, Atelier house , The Dream and many more.
This coasts has an accommodation for each and most with that beachfront allure. And the wonderful staff for each of villas and apartment gives us the reassurance that our guests are getting the best Barbados has to offer.
Situated on a hill is La Maison Michelle. We always liked that house but now we could understand the owners concept. It is just like every room has his own story to tell. 7 bedrooms with a complete different theme and an incredible view of the ocean.
Close to Port Ferdinand and Port St. Charles Marina lies Elysium. This contemporary designed villa is really a gem. Situated on a Hill with a view over the Marina and just 5 minutes from the beach it really has that wow factor.
In Our trip to Barbados we went to Royal Westmoreland the beautifully landscaped golf resort. With over 250 beautiful homes, an 18 hole Robert Trent Jones Jr golf course,
members only beach club on the famous Mullins Beach, fitness centre, salt water swimming pools, clay tennis courts, stunning club house, and best of all a busy schedule of many social opportunities with a vibrant members’ community. The stunning sea views, immaculately landscaped grounds, world-class security and exclusive lifestyle Royal Westmoreland is an experience to be relished on a holiday or cherished as your holiday home.
But Barbados is so much more than just amazing properties and beautiful resorts. The culinary attractions is something that you can not miss out on. Because we were on a short business trip we could only treat ourselves to a night dinning at The Cliff Beach Club. Located next door to its world renowned sister restaurant, The Cliff, the new Cliff Beach club offers an exciting alternative where you can dine in a chic and relaxed environment with oceanside setting.
The cocktails and food were delicious, this restaurant is definitely a must go but reservations is recommended.
Next day we dined at The Tides. Also situated right on the waters edge this restaurant is spectacular from the moment you enter. It offers the ideal combination of a fantastic ambiance, beautiful decor and the culinary creations of the chef. We took some time to order because everything on the menu looked so delicious. The food was just amazing and service was more then perfect. For this restaurant reservation is recommended.
Our trip to Barbados was amazing but just 3 days on Barbados is by far not enough. We will definitely be back to visits some more homes, stroll some more beaches, dine at various restaurants, explore the nature and partake in some of the many tourist attractions.
We can’t wait for you to see Barbados and explore what this beautiful island has to offer.
