Dreaming of a trip to Antigua? Here’s your chance to take over for Shaggy as Chief Caribbean Officer for a week.
We could all use a Caribbean vacation (there are even some scientific reasons to support this), and here’s a chance to get one without spending a dime. Are you willing to traveling to Antigua for a week to test out the best this Caribbean island has to offer? You just might be able to do so…for free!
Thanks to Shaggy, one lucky couple will be granted an all-expenses-paid trip of a lifetime. The reggae star was recently appointed Chief Caribbean Officer by Virgin Holidays. However, it looks like he’ll need a little help on the job.
The ever-busy two-time Grammy winner will be taking some time to promote his upcoming album. This means he’s looking for some “boombastic” brits to cover for him!
“Having just returned from an amazing trip to Antigua, there’s still a lot of ‘work’ to do, so an energetic recruit needs to fill my shoes while I’m on tour for my new album,” Shaggy said. “That means experiencing as many bars, restaurants and activities as possible. It’s a tough gig – but someone has to do it!”
A chill new video announced the appointment of the slick new officer. Shaggy will be tasked with visiting Antigua’s beaches, restaurants, and bars and promoting them to potential visitors. “It is my job to make sure that every visitor on this island is taken care of,” he says in the video.
Become Shaggy’s “second in command”
Shaggy is the very first person to fill this position with Virgin Holidays. Since he was born and raised in the Caribbean, he seems to be the perfect choice. The Jamaica-born artist has gained fame through his hit songs, including “It Wasn’t Me”, “Boombastic”, “In The Summertime”, “Oh Carolina”, and “Angel”.
Virgin Holidays is now searching for someone to visit Antigua in Shaggy’s stead. The chosen applicant will explore beaches, rainforests, and towns. In addition, he or she will sample the best of Antiguan cuisine at restaurants and bars.
Joe Thompson, Managing Director at Virgin Holidays, said: “Whether you’re looking for a lively getaway or a laid back break, the Caribbean has you covered. We’ve been sending Brits to the Caribbean for over 20 years, and with the help of Shaggy as our Chief Caribbean Officer and his soon-to-be-recruited second in command, we’ll inspire more people to discover this idyllic corner of the world, kicking off with Antigua.”
To enter, click on this link and fill out a short entry form. You must be at least 18 years old to apply, and be willing to agree to terms and conditions.
Shaggy’s itinerary will include an iconic Pink Panther tour, a massage at St James’ Club and Resort Tranquility Spa and sampling local cuisine at Galley Bay Restaurant & Spa. The chosen couple will also enjoy water sports like kayaking and snorkeling, as well as a ride on the Antigua Rainforest Zipline.
