West Indians, Europeans, Lebanese, Jews, Asians and Africans, so many ethnic groups living together in harmony giving the perfect blend of unity and embracing diversity. The harmonious existence of so many ethnicities in the same region is one among the many attractions of the Caribbean. The Caribbean has many other charms like its sandy beaches, stupendous stretch and unbelievably warm weather all year round.
Some islands in the Caribbean, however, fall victim to hurricanes, especially those on the windward side, due to their geography and formation. Most islands originated from the coral formation and volcanic activity. As a result, some of the islands, do not have a lot of farmland due to their hilly nature leaving them to depend mainly on tourism. The hills and plain lands provide the best, most picturesque sceneries you have ever experienced.

Language is not a barrier in the Caribbean
Caribbean languages are very many which takes the pressure off of you since you’ll be able to communicate. They include languages that are recognized internationally, which make the tourism industry in the region thrive. Communication is essential to any experience, without verbal contact, it would be hard to enjoy some of the fantastic features of the islands.
Caribbean Languages
Different Caribbean islands speak one or more languages. The most recognized languages are six that are mostly European or creole, a derivative of European languages. Language is a constituent of culture, and that goes to cement the fact that the Caribbean is such a multicultural region.
Indigenous languages in the area are slowly becoming extinct, but some like Creole has gained recognition and is part of the recognized official languages. The six official Caribbean languages include:
- Spanish is the primary language used in these Caribe islands, Cuba, Puerto Rico, part of Trinidad, the Dominican Republic among other islands. Spanish speakers outnumber any other language in the region since most significant isles use Spanish.
- English is a favorite language in the Caribbean. Many of the islanders can speak English either as their first or second language. Most islands that use English fall under the leadership of Europe or North America. English is also known as the tourism language which makes it a language of choice for many islanders to learn.
- French is very popular and the official language of islands like St. Martin, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Martinique, and St. Barthelme
- Haitian Creole is official in Haiti
- Papiamento, a mix of Spanish and Portuguese that is an official language in Aruba, Curacao, and Bonaire.
- Dutch is the language spoken in Caribbean Netherlands and other islands under Dutch sovereignty.
Caribbean Netherlands
Caribbean Netherlands are three islands located in the Caribbean Sea that fall under the Dutch sovereignty. The name sometimes describes all Dutch isles, but the main recognized islands under the title are Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba commonly known as the BES islands.
BES islands are some of the best tourist destinations due to their yearlong tan friendly sunshine and relaxing breezes by the sandy beaches. Beautiful scenic hills and the burst of culture provide tourists with the best getaway for couples, families, and anyone looking to take a refreshing break from life.
