The Bahamas is more than just sand and sun. Here are 10 of our favorite activities in the Bahamas.
1. Swim with friendly pigs

Arguably this is most unique activity to try during a vacation in the Bahamas. Swimming with pigs is something you wouldn’t normally do elsewhere in the world. But in the Bahamas, it’s perfectly normal! These friendly swine have been residents of Big Major Cay, one of the islands in Exuma district, for as long as anyone can remember.
2. Walk under water

You may think that walking under water is impossible, but with Sea Trek, you tread the ocean floor with ease! The experience reminds us of a cross between snorkeling and moonwalking. You can see locations and book the experience at the Sea Trek official website.
3. Explore incredible dive sites

There are many dive sites in the Bahamas. One of the most interesting is the Andros Barrier Reef. The reef is quite large and contains an incredible range of interesting sites to explore. You can see colorful fish in shallow water, explore a blue hole, or dive off the 6,000-feet-deep Tongue of the Ocean.
4. Visit a Pink Sand Beach

The Bahamas is home to an incredible pink sand beach on Harbor Island. The reason why the sand is pink is because it is full of tiny particles of foraminifera, which are microscopic red and pink shelled organisms.
5. Dive into Dean’s Blue Hole

Dean’s Blue Hole in the Bahamas is the second deepest blue hole in the world. A blue hole is a sinkhole filled with ocean water. There is another famous blue hole in the Caribbean called the Belize Blue Hole.
6. Visit Pirates of Nassau Museum
This pirate museum in Nassau offers you an “interactive pirate experience”. Check out their website and plan a trip to learn more about the famous swashbucklers that ruled the Caribbean centuries ago.
7. Explore a 40-acre jungle

Lucayan National Park is the perfect place to see some incredible creatures and magnificent birds. Within the park are swamps, beaches, and boardwalks, plus the longest underwater cave system in the world. The park is located on the island of Grand Bahama.
8. Visit the Atlantis Aquaventure Park

This exciting water park features a famous slide called the “Leap of Faith”. It’s an almost vertical drop on the side of a building fashioned to resemble a Mayan temple. Since it measures a whopping 60 feet, some have called it the scariest water slide in the world.
9. Swim with dolphins
You can swim with dolphins in various locations in the Bahamas, including Nassau, in the famous Blue Lagoon, and Freeport. There are a variety of programs at varying prices that allow you to swim with these majestic creatures, pet them, and even perform tricks with them.
10. Gaze on the Glass Window Bridge

If you travel along Queen’s Highway on the island of Eleuthera, you’ll cross a narrow rocky strip separating the Caribbean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean. It’s one of the most impressive activities in the Bahamas, but not too many people know it exists!
